The origin of Dixieline began in 1913 when the Cowling Family of San Diego founded Dixie Lumber Company. Built on the philosophy that customer service is the key to success, Dixie Lumber quickly established itself as the premier supplier of lumber and building materials in Southern California. In 1957, a merger with Airline Lumber Company brought these two fine organizations together and formed Dixieline.

Forty-six years later Dixieline Lumber Company was purchased by Lanoga Corporation  and became part of one of the nation's largest professional building materials dealer.

Today, Dixieline ProBuild is owned by ProBuild Holdings Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fidelity Capital, the business development arm of the mutual fund company, Fidelity Investments. On January 6, 2006, ProBuild purchased the Lanoga Corporation and became the largest professional building materials supplier in the United States.
