Axle Driver
-
Drive truck with capacity up to 13 tons, transporting lumber and
building materials to and from specified destinations.
Job
duties include:
Deliver lumber, plywood and building materials to job site. Collect
payment for goods delivered. Pick up material for return credit. Utilize
two-way radio for communication. Complete daily vehicle checklist
report. Operate vehicle adhering to safety requirements at all times.
Obey traffic laws and maintain a clean driving record.
                 
3 Axle Driver
-
Drive truck with capacity up to 24 tons, transporting lumber and
building materials to and from specified destinations.
Job
duties include:
Deliver lumber, plywood and building materials to job site. Collect
payment for goods delivered. Pick up material for return credit. Utilize
two-way radio for communication. Complete daily vehicle checklist
report. Operate vehicle adhering to safety requirements at all times.
Obey traffic laws and maintain a clean driving record.
                 
Dispatcher
- Monitor the delivery paperwork flow to make sure customer deliveries
are delivered on time. Group and route deliveries according to
designated districts to be delivered by truck drivers.
Job
duties include:
Assist customers. Schedule daily deliveries using both truck and
pick-up. Coordinate delivery times and total hours for maximum
efficiency. Estimate necessary time to build loads and coordinate with
load builder so that all loads are ready on schedule. Maintain accurate
records of all deliveries, addresses, time of deliveries and board
footage. Write all credits for return merchandise.
                 
Forklift Operator
-
Operate gas or propane powered industrial lift equipped with lifting
devices to push, pull, lift, stack, tier or move products, equipment or
materials.
Job
duties include:
Load and unload material by raising and lowering lifting device.
Strategically place lumber and various loads on truck for delivery. Load
and unload materials onto or off of pallets and skids, and supply
workers with materials as needed. Lubricate lift, fill fuel tank and
replace propane cylinder as needed.
                 
Job Coordinator
- Coordinate loads for shipping of product; prepare worksheets used in
assembly of loads for shipping to contractors.
Job
duties include:
Compares customer purchase order with specifications to determine method
of assembly of materials needed. Records data such as quantity, quality,
type, and size of material, and expected completion date on worksheet.
Keeps inventory of stock on hand and requisitions needed material and
supplies. Writing mill tickets. Checking stock on hand while writing
orders. Following order forms from beginning to end with changes, adds
or deletes. Notify sales personnel of any possible problems with
delivery schedule or to get necessary information from customer.
Coordinate with Dispatcher for delivery dates and times.

Builder

Engineered Wood Products/Labor
-
Builds loads of TJI, Parallam, Microlam, Hangers, I-Joist and Blocks for
delivery to job sites.
Job
duties include:
The ability to build loads with accuracy, read build lists and gather
material. Pick, stack and band I-Joist, Microlam and Parallam. Stage
loads for future delivery. Use chain saw to cut long stock to rough
desired length. Cut I-Joist blocking when necessary. Band load
components together. Load material onto trucks. Pick and package hangers
for loads.
                 
Load
Builder
-
Build lumber/plywood loads for either a roll-off-drop or forklift-unload
at job site.
Job
duties include:
Build lumber/plywood loads with accuracy of all lumber grades, end size,
piece count and load sequence for job site usage. Build loads on
forklift and/or tractor/trailer. Lace plywood for safe and efficient
unload at job site.
                 
Load
Builder - Truss
Yard
- Assembles roof truss packages for
delivery to job sites.
Job
duties include:
The ability to build a load with accuracy and assemble it together so it
drops safely. Band load components together. Banding of various finished
trusses into packages for delivery.
                 
Lumber Handler
-
Provide customer service in lumber yard.
Job
duties include:
Load all lumber, plywood, and building material products for retail and
contractor customers. Stock bins with designated lumber products.
Perform any necessary cuts on designated material using safety conscious
measures regarding equipment. Building call fill, blocks, hangers and
hip rafter loads. Cut and re-band loads from production for building
into individual house loads.
                 
Millman
- Set
up and operate a variety of woodworking machines to surface, cut and
shape lumber, and to fabricate parts for wood products such as doors,
door & window frames, furniture and sashes.
Job
duties include:
Operate machines to saw, smooth and shape lumber. Assemble fabricated
parts, mill doors, sashes and door & window frames. Maintain operation
equipment, check and adjust for safety, new blades, etc.
                 
Millworks Specialist -
Sell door and window merchandise by answering questions concerning
product availability, price, use and applications to retail customers.
Job
duties include:
Obtain and receive merchandise requested by customers. Write quotes on
specific orders for customers. Do "Takeoffs" from blue prints
accurately. Have detailed knowledge of doors, windows and specialty
hardware. Able to cut and process purchase orders and supply orders
accurately. Strong ability to meet deadlines in a high-volume
environment. Coordinate with Door and Window Center on any bids
requiring Outside Sales services. Follow through on all assignments,
have complete and detail documentation and correspondence. Understand
marketing concepts for individual store promotions of doors, windows,
millworks and specialty hardware.
                 
Millworks Supplies Buyer
-
Compile information and records to prepare purchase orders for
procurement of material (i.e. doors and windows).
Job
duties include:
Assist customers. Oversee the placing of all special orders for
customers. Consult catalogs and communicate with vendors to obtain
product prices and specifications. Write or type purchase order and send
a copy to supplier. Compile records of items purchased or transferred
between departments, prices, deliveries and inventories. Compute total
cost of items purchased. Verify bills from suppliers, purchase orders
and approve bills for payment.
Must have substantial product knowledge regarding doors and windows.
                 
Outside Lumber Sales Rep
-
Sell lumber, panel products and all associated building materials to
general contractors, framers, builders and homeowners.
Job
duties include:
Soliciting business by cold calling, performing research and following
up on leads throughout an assigned territory. Must have excellent
customer service skills and the ability to read and understand blue
prints and do take-offs. Competitive wages, excellent benefit program

Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities, ensure accuracy,
completeness and condition of shipments using our Blind receiving
program. Process receiving paperwork and tag merchandise for customers.
Receive and ship transfers between stores. Coordinate and prepare
merchandise returns for prompt shipments to vendors. Direct movement of
merchandise from receiving platform to storage and sales floor.
                 
Supplies Buyer
- Compiles information and records to prepare purchase orders for
procurement of material.
Job
duties include:
Assist customers. Verifies nomenclature and specifications of purchase
receipt. Searches inventory records or warehouse to determine if
material on hand is in sufficient quantity. Maintain proper stock levels
by setting and maintaining Min/Max, use of excess stock notifiers, check
missed sales report daily, insure merchandise returns are done in a
timely manner, use SKU activity report on sale items as well as regular
priced items to assist in monitoring movement, provide feedback to
Corporate Merchandisers and Hardware Managers on needs, ideas and input.
Oversee placing of all special orders for customers. Maintain signing
and bin label standards throughout store. Insure ad's are set on time
and product levels are adequate. Computes total cost of items purchased.
Compares prices, specifications and delivery dates. Verifies bills from
suppliers with bids and purchase orders are approved for payment.
Assists accounts payable in prompt payment of accounts.
                 
Truss Designer/Sales
- Applicant must have solid background and thorough understanding of
truss manufacturing with the ability to perform truss takeoffs. Strong
organizational and customer service skills necessary. Knowledge of
Truswal or similar computer engineering programs preferred.
                 
Yard
Foreman
- Supervises
and coordinates activities of workers engaged in loading, unloading,
storing, transferring and distributing materials such as lumber and
building supplies.
Job
duties include:
Assist customers. Maintain a clean, safe and well organized yard,
overstock area and an adequate inventory on all yard items. Establish an
effective inventory control system to assure proper "Days on Hand"
objectives. Certifies selected personnel to operate equipment such as
forklifts, load building tractors, trucks, panel saw, swing saws, rebar
cutter, pipe cutter/threader, rip saw, table saw and resaw. Monitors all
usage and upkeep of yard equipment. Directs workers engaged in keeping
records of materials received and used. Communicates regularly with
Dispatcher to assure efficiency of our delivery system. Train and
develop Leadman and Lumber Handlers using established Lumber Handler
orientation program. Maintains time and production records.
