To help you through the rebuilding process here are a few things to consider: 

• Planning offices are waiving permit fees and foregoing much of the paperwork to expedite construction if you are making NO changes to your existing home's architectural plans.

• If you plan to make changes, the time frame for re-construction grows.
  Steps include: assessment, insurance claim and payout, architectural plan changes, plan approval, contractor selection…bidding and permits.

• Generally speaking, you will need to select a trusted builder, framer,
  general contractor or remodeling contractor for your project. Your contractor will help you through the plan changes, approval, permits and bidding.

• Lumber and building materials will be discounted on an individual basis.
